FoodAI Group invited to deliver a public lecture on AI and food science at Singapore’s National Library

On 12 June 2026, FoodAI Group was invited by the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore to deliver a public lecture titled “How AI is Decoding Food: From Molecules to Taste” at the National Library.

The lecture was part of NLB’s “Can AI Help You?” programme series, which aims to showcase how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming various aspects of daily life and to promote public understanding of emerging AI technologies. The event attracted more than 100 registered participants from diverse backgrounds.

During the talk, Dr. Zhang Dachuan introduced the emerging field of Food Informatics and highlighted how AI is reshaping food science research and innovation. Through engaging examples and real-world case studies, he demonstrated how machine learning models can predict food flavors and functions from molecular information, and how generative models can be used to assess sensory attributes.

This invitation from the National Library Board highlights the increasing recognition of FoodAI Group’s research in advancing AI applications in food science. Beyond scientific discovery, the event also provided an opportunity to engage with the broader community and promote public understanding of how AI can contribute to healthier, more sustainable, and more innovative food systems.

All group members in Singapore joined the event and had a nice beer together afterward.
